Gestern Abend saßen Professor Caprese und ich im Kochlabor zusammen und unterhielten uns über das fast vergangene Jahr und planten auch schon etwas die kommende Zeit.
»Ninni mag übrigens gerne Ihren kleinen Streuselkuchen und den neapolitanischen Nusskuchen. Überhaupt liebt sie alles mit Nüssen. Nur gewöhnlichen Zucker verträgt sie nicht so«, meinte Caprese plötzlich.
Ich war erstaunt. »Wer ist Ninni?«
Der Professor lächelte. »Oh, hatte ich sie nicht erwähnt?« Er zog einen Briefumschlag aus der Tasche und entnahm ihm einen handgeschriebenen Brief. Er war von Ninni – seiner Großnichte. Sie war 18 Jahre alt und wollte in Rom Linguistik und Robotertechnik studieren. Im Januar wollte sie für drei Monate nach Hamburg kommen, um hier zu studieren und dem Professor zu assistieren.
Caprese las den Brief vor, und mir war sie sofort sehr sympathisch. »Sie wird Luigi vieles beibringen. Vor allem Sprache, aber auch das Kochen. Sie ist sehr klug, lustig und kocht sehr gerne. Sie werden sich gut verstehen.« Der Professor zwinkerte mir zu.
Ich war überrascht, aber auch aufgeregt. Ninni würde das Kochlabor sicherlich bereichern. Ich überlegte, wie ich sie am besten begrüßen könnte. Und hatte auch schon eine Idee.
In den nächsten Tagen entwickelte ich kleine Zimt-Nuss-Schnecken aus einem Quark-Öl-Teig mit Dinkelmehl mit gerösteten Nüssen, Zimt und Kokosblütenzucker und nannte sie: Ninnis.

Seit meinem Gericht Kartoffel-Kohlrabi-Gratin war Progfessor Caprese ein großer Kohlrabi-Fan. Alles war plötzlich kohlrabico. Einmal hörte ich, wie er bei einem Telefonat mit seiner Cousine Laura immer wieder »Molto kohlrabico« sagte.
Als ich ihn darauf ansprach, was das bedeutet, glänzten seine Augen. »Das ist so.« Und während er das sagte, breitete er die Arme ganz weit aus.
Na ja, weil er so ein großer Kohlrabifan ist, wollte ich ihn überraschen. Mit einem Mandel-Kohlrabiblatt-Pesto und… aber schauen Sie selbst. Der Professor mag das Gericht sehr und hat es in sein kulinarisches Herz geschlossen. Vielleicht finden Sie es ja auch »Molto kohlrabico«:-)
